Our client is a globally operating industrial technology organization entering a new and emerging international market segment.
While the underlying technology is highly capable, commercial success in this segment requires market creation, strategic positioning and close alignment between technology, application and customer value.
To drive this next growth phase, we are looking for a senior commercial leader who will take global end-to-end ownership of a market segment—from strategy to execution. It is a global segment ownership position with strong strategic, commercial and cross-functional responsibility.
Your Mission
As Global Segment Manager, you will define, build and scale an international business segment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global segment strategy, including long-term vision, go-to-market logic and regional priorities
- Identify and develop new market opportunities across existing and emerging regions
- Drive complex, high-value commercial initiatives with long decision cycles
- Achieve profitable revenue growth with full P&L responsibility for the segment
- Act as the central interface between commercial teams, technical functions and operational stakeholders
- Contribute actively to application-driven product positioning, translating market needs into clear solution strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers across cultures and regions
- Represent the segment internally and externally at a senior level
Organization development
As the segment evolves, you will play a key role in shaping the commercial organization, including:
- Defining and developing regional sales structures and partner models
- Supporting the development of future sales leadership and key commercial roles
- Contributing to strategic and operational planning, including budgeting, forecasting and performance targets
Extensive international travel is an expected and integral part of this role.
What we are looking for
Mandatory requirements
- Extensive experience in senior commercial, business development or segment leadership roles within complex, technology-driven or industrial environments
- Proven success in building and scaling international market segments, not just managing established business
- Strong business and financial acumen, including full P&L responsibility
- Experience operating in multi-channel international sales environments (direct, partners, OEMs, distributors)
- Ability to engage credibly with C-level and senior decision-makers
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capability
- High resilience, ownership mentality and adaptability in fast-evolving markets
- Willingness to travel extensively on a global level
Beneficial
- Background in industrial, regulated or technically complex markets
- Experience working in matrix organizations with global stakeholders
- Exposure to emerging, transformation-driven or sustainability-oriented markets
