LANGE HR Consulting

Our goal is to create a healthy, friendly, and successful environment for both clients and candidates.

Trust and honesty are essential to us – which is why we act as your strategic partner, helping you find the role that truly fits you. We carefully analyse the needs of our clients, ensuring we always understand which profile is right for which position.

You benefit not only from our industry expertise and long-standing relationships, but also from the personal support of a dedicated consultant who will coach you throughout the process – and, if desired, accompany you to interviews.

Your Impact

In this strategically relevant role, you will act as a central interface between regulation, standardisation and business strategy. You actively shape regulatory and technical frameworks at national, European and international level and ensure that upcoming standards are anticipated early and translated into competitive advantage.

You will represent the company in key standardisation bodies, influence regulatory developments relevant to building materials and construction systems, and drive internal alignment across engineering, R&D, legal and business functions.

This role is designed for experienced professionals who combine deep regulatory expertise with strategic foresight, strong stakeholder management and the ambition to actively shape the future of the construction and building materials industry.

Your Responsibilities

External Representation & Strategic Influence

  • Act as the company’s key representative in national, European and international standardisation committees, associations and regulatory bodies.

  • Actively influence standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to building materials, construction systems and building envelopes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with standardisation organisations, industry associations and key stakeholders.
  • Anticipate regulatory trends and assess their potential impact on products, markets and business strategy.

Internal Alignment & Communication

  • Lead and coordinate an internal expert network across engineering, R&D, quality, legal, marketing and production.

  • Translate complex regulatory and standardisation requirements into clear business-relevant recommendations and decision templates.
  • Support product development and innovation by integrating regulatory requirements at an early stage.
  • Act as internal sparring partner for management on regulatory risks, opportunities and strategic positioning.
  • Design and deliver internal trainings, briefings and updates on standards and compliance topics.

Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Continuously monitor regulatory developments, standards and certification requirements across relevant global markets.

  • Manage and oversee certification processes, including cost implications and timelines.
  • Develop internal guidelines, position papers and whitepapers to support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a future-oriented standards and regulatory strategy aligned with long-term business goals.

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience in regulatory affairs, standardisation, certification or compliance within a technical or industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks in the construction or building materials sector (e.g. roofing, waterproofing, façades or adjacent industries).
  • Proven experience working in international and cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • Excellent English skills are essential; German language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to travel as part of a European or global role.
